Biography:
Samuel Kobena Ampah (born 6th June) professionally known as KAHPUN (Heart of African Reggae/Dancehall) aka **The FlyEstBo$$** is an award-winning versatile Ghanaian deejay, singer, and songwriter from Cape Coast, Ghana. He had a passion for arts at a tender age and enjoyed writing poems and lyrics as his hobby during school days Kahpun completed University Junior High School & Ti Ahmadiyya Senior High School in 2005 & 2008 respectively. In 2013, he enrolled at the Ghana Institute of Journalism & successfully completed a four-week intensive course in radio & television presentation.
Higher Heightz Army is his Fanbase & “Eeeaazzyy” or ‘’Chubble’’ is his slogan. Kahpun began his career after school as a rapper and a group leader for a group named Skillz. He released a couple of hot singles like Mr. Politrician, The Bomb Ft Ikonz & Bobo Da Capone with a street video.
Kahpun has a different way of putting his lyrics together and his creativity baffles a lot of people especially those who get the chance to witness how he works in the studio. He is well known for his lyrical dexterity & creativity.
His message is mostly about social issues and real-life lessons and he is gradually reaching the masses with his unique style and powerful content.
His inspiration comes from his life experiences, observations, trials, hopes, and dreams. From the people, events, and lessons that make him who He is. Kahpun grew up listening to artists like Bob Marley, Culture, Peter Tosh, Alpha Blondy, Mutabaruka, Steel Pulse, Sizzla Kalonji, Capleton, Lucky Dube, Vybz Kartel, Bounty Killer, Beenie Man, Shabba Ranks amongst others but he loves Bob Marley most because of his vibration. He also listened to some Country music & hymn with his dad.
He released his Psycho Drill MixTape ( LP ) hosted by Dj Wyre in June 2014.
In October 2019 he officially released his debut EP titled My Story, My Song. The tracks on the EP consist of six amusing songs plus an intro, making it seven in total.
Surprisingly, Mr. Logic (an entertainment pundit and an artiste manager ) officially disclosed in May 2020 that the Fante Dancehall General is his biological cousin direct from his mother’s side and was supposed to work with him about four years ago but finally faith has brought them back together to work as a family and a music body. “Two Strong Companies namely; Hunta Productions (Label) and Red Panta Music (Management) handles Kahpun’s music business.
On May 13, 2020 Kahpun won the hearts of the world by becoming the overall winner of Jamaican reggae artiste and Bornfire Music Boss, Anthony B’s #12BarsVerseChallenge
The “Excuse Me Miss” hitmaker beat several talented artists across the world who also participated in the challenge.
Kahpun also represented Ghana on BBC 1Xtra Africa 360 freestyle hosted by Seani B. He has performed on stages like Panafest, Jaghafest 2019.
