Real name Igor Diakonov, was born in Moscow 1st of February 1987. Started his singing career in May 2008 as frontman of Ja ba band.With band and alone with selectors he gave more than 100 performances in Moscow and other Russian cities (Saint Peterburg, Ekaterinburg, Omsk, Krasnoyarsk, Perm, Toliaty, Tver).

Afro D took part in Bob Marley Birthday Fest 2009 in Moscow, performing in one scene with Fitta Warri (Jamaica). He performed in 1st Russian Dancehall Queen Contest 2009, feat Amzone and J Mix(France). Also, he made weekly dancehall reggae events in Moscow, with Curly Heads Lab promo group. At first all lyrics was in native language, but then he decided that project must be international and start to work with English lyrics, using also Jamaican Patois. In the middle of 2010 he started to record his debute album “The First Step”. Also this time he started to work with the first Russian reggae background band call The Stereodrop. In 2011 the Stereodrop organized weekly live reggae events “Rocking Time”, when Afro D always was special guest.

In January 2012, Afro D released his first video “See di Light”, it was shooted in the 100000 protest action against president Vladimir Putin. With The Stereodrop performed with Uwe Banton (Germany). Also supported dancehall master classes with French dancer Animal with the performance. Year 2013 was very successful for Afro D. He performed in the “Music for Bob 2013” in Moscow – international reggae festival, shared scene with Tippa Irie, Solo Banton and Radikal Guru.

In April 2012 , Afro D visited Negril, one of the first Russian artists who was in Jamaica and can understand it culture. In 31th of May he released his debute album “The First Step”, featuring Mark Wonder (Jamaica), Dub Unit (UK, Portugal), Jahsenda (Ghana), Maasto Records (Finland), Rebelsteppa (Russia), Daniel Man (Russia). The album was mixed and mastered by Yuri “derCircus” Markov. Cd (digipack) was printed 1500 copies and available in free download.

Then he started to work for two Ep’s. "One prod" by Sticky Joe (UK) and with the producer
The Stereodrop on a new russian reggae releases, which will be released soon. In the beginning of December 2013, Afro D shooted music video in Vietnam dedicated to his wife and called “Darling”. In January 2014, two radio stations started to play Afro D songs and dubs, Randy’s Radio (New York), Ras Dave Show and Pulsar Radio (France), Culture Dub Show. He recorded the tune “Nah Believe” featuring Papa Lion (Russia), prod. by Rebelsteppa, and the first Russian dancehall music video “Family”, featuring Luna T, prod. by El Toro. The video was supported by the best Russian dancehall teams.

In February 2014, he performed first time abroad with Jahneral Sound and Bass Sheriff Sound in Brno, and Boscovice (Czech Republic) and he shooted the video in Prague on the song «The Way of Righteousness» (Released in May 2014).
In May 2014, he performed for the first time at Moscow Reggae Festival VI with The Dubsters (russian reggae backing band). Some Afro D's tunes were played on Riddim Roots Radio (UK) and he was interviewed about reggae music in Russia longside Farda Concious.

In August 2014, Afro D released the song “Never Get Dirty” on Freedom Riddim VA complication (Zona Reggae Music, Romania). Afro D also started to collaborate with Dubophonic Netlabel. with The Dubsters organized monthly events “Heavyweight Dub Party”.
In August 2015, he recorded the song "Teach Dem Fi Survive" on Celebrity Fever Riddim produced by Zion Dirty Sound
