A reggae electronic group on a mission to entertain.
Shubs World Party is a masked theatrical quartet, a first for a reggae group based in Philadelphia Pennsylvania in the United States formed in the summer of 2021.
Consisting of two Jamaicans and two Americans they have released music on their own 619 Entertainment imprint using distributors like VPAL Music and Distrokid. So far several singles are out , My Head, Piano, Stay For A While, Temptress featuring Robert Sutherland and Ms. Kitty featuring Nauseous are out. As well as an instrumental EP Metrodub handled by VPAL.
The groups core genre is reggae while incorporating electronica, dance and pop internationalizing the palette.
The masked group had a viral moment in March 2022 when their anti war effort The Putin Song (Give Peace a Chance) racked up several thousand views on YouTube. Now they are about to release Mighty Diamonds in the Sky a tribute to Legendary reggae trio The Mighty Diamonds in the wake of the brutal murder of lead vocalist Donald Tabby Diamond Shaw and the sudden passing of Bunny Diamond.
Shubs World Party’s manager Roger Grant says the masked look of the band gives them a wide berth to focus on the music and to take any direction they wish to choose. But they will give you some solid roots rock reggae.
2023 will see an introductory tour of Europe and the name Shubs World Party Philadelphia’s best kept secret will not remain a secret for too long.
