New Song: Old School by SumeRR
Tressan Michelle Barnett, known by the artistic name SumeRR, is a talented singer born in 1993 in Mandeville (Manchester, Jamaica) and living in Tenerife (Spain).
With a voice as catchy as her presence on stage and the freshness and boldness characteristic of Jamaican music, SumeRR is a versatile artist, able to move easily between different styles: roots, soul, dancehall, rap... without ever losing sight of her Jamaican roots. An artist who surprises with the agility, precision and warmth of her voice and the strong, vibrant and charismatic spontaneity that captures any lover of good music.
Since her youth, SumeRR has shown a great artistic restlessness, taking part in the choir of her school. For this she was officially recognized by the Jamaica Culture Development Commission and, later, participated in various prestigious musical competitions in Jamaica such as Digicel Rising Stars, for which she was selected among more than 400 participants.
Between 2011 and 2012, SumeRR made an impact with appearances in various radio and television stations in Jamaica with singles such as Jessie James, Young Gal, SumeRR Time and the collaboration with Warrior King, Do Not Need Another.
In 2016, after working for a few years in various mass media, she again attracted the attention of listeners with Johnny, a new single produced by Steve Locke through the well-known record label Truck Back Records, receiving strong media coverage and gaining new fans.
Currently SumeRR lives in Europe, where she moved to carry on her dream. From Tenerife (Spain), she works closely with the veteran musician and producer Ras Kuko and Ayatimas Reggae Management, with whom she has issued the single Old School. It represents her professional debut on the European scene and the beginning of a long journey together with her new production team, immersed in what will be her first album.
At her side she also has a band formed by great musicians who will accompany her in upcoming concerts to spread her music, message and the incredible energy that she emanates live. Despite the young age, SumeRR has already had the opportunity to perform at various festivals such as Rototom Sunsplash (Castellón), Feeling Festival and Sunblast (Tenerife). She also participated in the charity project Reggae Can Help by Proactiva Open Arms, contributing a song to a compilation produced by Ras Kuko together with artists from around the world
