Biography:
Louis-Jean is an Reggae musician from Senegal. He was born in Kaolack but raised in the suburb of Guediawaye, 20 km from the city centre of Dakar.
Louis-Jean developed a passion for Reggae music at an early age and was captivated by the soul and vibes of Reggae.
While participating in a UNICEF contest at the early age of 15, he wrote the lyrics for a Youssou N'Door-song on childrens'rights. Winning the second price motivated and encouraged him to continue writing lyrics and composing music.
His love for Reggae sent him on a journey to explore South-Africa in September 1997; in Johannesburg he had the opportunity to work with members of the band of Lucky Dube. With them, Louis-Jean produced his album Dakar, Johannesburg, Berlin just before his departure to Berlin. This production refflects the experiences of his journey.

In 2005, he founded the band The Irie Rainbow and they are continuously developing their Roots Reggae style, inspired by legends such as Peter Tosh, Max'Adioa, Jimmy Hendrix, Lucky Dube, Youssou N'dour, Touré Kunda.
